STANWOOD — A state wildlife agent has investigated a report of roughly two dozen geese and duck carcasses recently dumped off Logen Road about a mile north of Stanwood.
All the birds’ chests were slit and breast meat was removed.
“There is no evidence to suggest they were illegally harvested but they were poorly disposed of,” state Department of Fish and Wildlife Sgt. Rich Phillips said.
Waterfowl hunters often only keep the breast meat from birds they kill.
