EDMONDS — A missing Edmonds woman with Alzheimer’s has been found safe in Seattle.

Nancy Brancheau, 59, who walked from her home either Monday night or early Tuesday morning, was located unharmed Tuesday evening at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle, Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said.

Brancheau was found around 7:30 p.m.

Police searched all day with the assistance of Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, the Alzheimer’s Association Safe Return Program, police dog search teams, and the sheriff’s office SnoHawk 1 helicopter.

Brancheau was located at the Seattle waterfront park by a family friend who was one of the dozens of volunteers searching all day.

She was driven to her Edmonds home where she was examined by Snohomish County Fire District 1 emergency medical staff.
