MOUNT VERNON — The man accused of killing six people in a shooting rampage in Skagit County will have a mental evaluation at Western State Hospital in Lakewood.
Lawyers agreed on the evaluation today in Skagit County Superior Court after Isaac Zamora was removed for shouting insults.
KOMO Radio reports Zamora told his lawyer, “You’re fired,” and called Judge Michael Rickert a fool.
The 28-year-old Alger man is charged with 20 felony counts, including six counts of aggravated first-degree murder, which could bring the death penalty. The dead in the Sept. 2 rampage included a sheriff’s deputy.
