EVERETT — Police are investigating a pharmacy robbery reported Thursday night in south Everett.

About 7 p.m., a man entered the Rite Aid at 10103 Evergreen Way.

The man displayed what appeared to be a firearm and demanded prescription drugs before running away, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.

The suspected robber is described as Hispanic and in his mid-20s. He weighs about 170 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Meanwhile, an Everett police officer who was en route to the robbery 911 call was involved in an accident near the intersection of Everett Mall Way and Highway 526.

The officer had to avoid colliding with a car that was pulling onto the road, Goetz said. The officer swerved, and the patrol car went into a ditch.

The officer was taken to a local hospital to be checked over. He wasn’t seriously injured.

There was significant damage to the patrol car, Goetz said.
