Clearview vacation Bible school: Clearview Foursquare Church will hold a vacation Bible school, “Babylon, Daniel’s Courage in Captivity,” 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The sessions are for children ages 5 through sixth grade, but older kids are welcome to help. Parents welcome but not required to stay. Included will be a “tour” of ancient Babylon, including the great palace of Daniel, outdoor water games, creation of musical instruments and sampling of exotic foods. Jehovah’s Witnesses convention: “Safeguard Your Heart” is the topic of a three-day Jehovah’s Witnesses district convention that began Friday at the Tacoma Dome. Events continue today and Sunday. Hours are 9:20 a.m.-4:55 p.m. today and 9:20 a.m.-3:40 p.m. Sunday. The convention is the second of three Jehovah’s Witnesses events at the Tacoma Dome. The final convention is scheduled for July 13-15, with all events starting at 9:20 a.m. Strengthening spirituality is the focus of the programs, which include dramatic Bible readings and a play called “What Is True Love?” There are 175 Jehovah’s Witnesses congregations in the Puget Sound region. Unity topic: “You are Naturally Good Because God’s Divinity is in You and in Everyone” is the title of a lesson Brian Gillum will present at 10 a.m. Sunday at Everett Unity Church of Positive Living. His message will focus on a belief that the concept of humans being innately sinful is an error. Gillum is youth education director at Everett Unity Church. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers, able to lift 50 pounds and use stairs, are needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean up. A box truck, the size of a U-Haul truck, is needed to pick up food for food banks.
