LAKE STEVENS — One person died in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Highway 92 near Lake Stevens.
A driver was trying to turn onto 44th Street NE when he was hit from behind and knocked into the path of a pickup truck around 3 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.
The driver died at the scene. No one else was in that car.
Occupants of the pickup and a second car did not need to be taken to a hospital, trooper Heather Axtman said.
The road was blocked in both directions while troopers investigated. Traffic was detoured to the north.
