FEDERAL WAY — Federal Way police say they found an elderly woman dead in a home Wednesday afternoon and a man in his 60s with a gunshot wound to the head.
The Seattle Times said police characterized the double shooting as a homicide-attempted suicide.
Cmdr. Stan McCall said a friend of the 67-year-old man requested that police check on him. Officers found the man lying on the living room floor. They also found an 88-year-old woman resident dead with at least one gunshot wound.
McCall said the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he is reported in serious condition.
Another police spokesman said earlier he was unsure of the relationship between the two but said they might be mother and son.
