ARLINGTON — Police in Arlington are investigating a downtown bank robbery that occurred Friday afternoon.

A woman entered Chase Bank branch in the 500 block of N. Olympic Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m. Friday. She handed over a note threatening violence if the teller did not comply.

The suspect ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses described the suspect as white, in her mid-30s to mid-40s, with a thin build, sunken cheeks and shoulder length brown hair.

Police reached the bank within three minutes of the initial 911 call, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Investigators were able to collect evidence they hope will help identify the suspect, city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.

Anyone with a tip or who can identify the suspect is encouraged to contact the Arlington Police Department at 360-403-3400.
