EVERETT — Four Everett firefighters returned from battling California wildfires late Thursday for what could be a brief break.
The crew and an Everett fire engine headed south Oct. 13 to fight the Atlas and Nuns fires in Napa County. The team returned early because of mechanical problems, but could be deployed again, said Assistant Fire Marshal Steve Goforth.
Crews from several other Snohomish County fire districts were fighting the wildfires in northern California wildfires this month. About 240,000 acres have been scorched and 42 people have been killed.
