Fire damages Lake Stevens house

LAKE STEVENS — A two-alarm house fire was extinguished Wednesday in the north Lake Stevens area.

The fire began about 3:15 p.m. on the back deck of a house in the 9700 block of 42nd Street NE, Getchell Fire Chief Travis Hots said. It spread into the attic, broke windows and climbed into the house.

Everyone got out safely, he said. Crews remained on scene for several hours working on hot spots. Crews included firefighters from Getchell, Lake Stevens, Granite Falls, Marysville, rural Arlington and Silvana.

The damage appeared moderate, Hots said. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
