Fire threatens homes in Klickitat County

MABTON — State emergency managers have mobilized to help local firefighters battling a wildfire in Klickitat County, about eight miles south of Mabton.

The state fire marshal’s office says the fire broke out at 4 p.m. Tuesday and threatened about 20 homes.

The state is sending four wildland fire engines, water tenders and a helicopter.
