EVERETT — Five people were taken to an Everett hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning early Sunday, when a generator was left running in a closed garage, according to firefighters.
Ambulances were called around 6:30 a.m. to a home in the 200 block of 99th Place SW. Aid crews found the house didn’t have power, and a generator was running in the garage, according to the Everett Fire Department.
Five people with symptoms of CO poisoning were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The fire department urged people to use generators outdoors, to install carbon monoxide detectors near bedrooms and to test the alarms regularly.
