SEATTLE — A former King County sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to promoting prostitution and other charges.
The Seattle Times reported that Deputy Darrion Keith Holiwell, 49, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree promoting prostitution, one count of first-degree theft and one count of violating a drug law.
King County Superior Court Judge Bruce Heller called him a disgrace to his profession as he imposed the sentence, which prosecutors and defense attorneys agreed to as part of a plea deal.
Investigators said Holiwell encouraged his estranged wife, a former stripper, to work as an escort, and that he kept much of her earnings. He was also accused of stealing department ammunition and illegally delivering testosterone.
