Camano Island artist Jack Gunter, who recently returned from Siberia to retrieve paintings stuck in the former Soviet Union since 1989, has scheduled a “pop-up” exhibit of the paintings from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Cassera Arts Premiers Gallery, 106 First St., in La Conner.

A Friends of Heybrook Ridge event is set for 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Outdoor Adventures Center’s River House, 444 Ave. A in Index. There will be bluegrass music, dancing, a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds benefit trail development in Snohomish County’s forested 100-acre park on Heybrook Ridge between the north and south forks of the Skykomish River at Index.
