Bridal gowns on sale
Brides Against Breast Cancer’s Nationwide Tour of Gowns is coming this weekend to Snohomish.
Shop from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Belle Chapel, 231 Avenue B.
The gown sale hits 50 cities each year with truckloads of discounted gowns donated by designers, manufacturers, bridal shops and women who give away their dresses.
Gown prices start at $199. Proceeds benefit Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to granting wishes of those battling terminal breast cancer.
Island County tax forum: Island County Board of Commissioners plan to address the county’s continuing financial crisis at a forum this week.
A proposition by the county on the August ballot asks voters whether they want more property taxes to retain already-reduced public safety and other services.
A forum is set for 6 tonight at Skagit Valley College, Hayes Hall, Room 137, 1900 SE Pioneer Way in Oak Harbor.
Submit art: The Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission is seeking artist’s works for Arts of the Terrace, the annual juried arts show scheduled for Oct. 1-3.
More than $3,000 in prize money is available. Deadline for entries is August 30.
