Utility rates will increase in 2010: Sultan residents will get higher utility bills this year.
The base rate for 600 cubic feet of water will jump by 11 percent, or $2.84, from $25.25 to $28.09. Additionally, water rates for more than 600 cubic feet will increase from $2.28 to $2.54 per cubic foot. Sewer rates will go up by 5 percent, meaning residents will see an increase of $3.09, from $61.74 to $64.83. Residential storm-water rates will go up by $1, from $5.75 to $6.75.
Garbage and recycling rates will remain unchanged.
Snohomish Conservation District needs two board members: Snohomish Conservation District has two volunteer supervisor positions open beginning in 2010, one elected and one appointed, for three-year terms on its board of supervisors.
