Memory loss film
The Family Caregiver Support Program of Snohomish County presents a free viewing and brief discussion of “Alive Inside,” a story about “music’s ability to combat memory loss and restore a deep sense of self to those suffering from it,” 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.
Lake Stevens survey: Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens is running a survey to help its leaders determine their long-term goals.
Everyone who lives in the district is asked to complete the survey. It will be included in the October sewer district bills or can be picked up online at www.LSFire.org or in person at district headquarters, 1825 S. Lake Stevens Road.
Arlington WiFi: The city of Arlington plans to unveil a new public wireless internet hotspot at 323 N. Olympic Ave. during the Viking Festival on Saturday.
This is the first free hotspot to be established by the city under an economic recovery plan submitted to the America’s Best Communities contest.
Darrington also is part of the plan and installed a hotspot at Old School Park.
A pop-up park is scheduled to be open at the new hotspot in Arlington on Saturday. Experts there can help people learn how to use the wireless internet access.
