Gingerbread houses

Gingerbread house workshops for families will be held at several Sno-Isle Libraries branches in December. Registration is required.

Make gifts at the Arboretum

The Evergreen Arboretum holds a “Holiday Workshop” for kids and their parents, noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 2. The Arboretum is at American Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett.

Families will go home with several handmade gifts. The event is best for kids age 6-10. Materials will be provided.

A membership with the nonprofit is required. Family membership is $35 and good through March 2019. Members can attend Arboretum classes and events for free.

Santa and breakfast for the Y

Santa will be at Anthony’s Seafood Grill at the Alderwood mall (3000 184th St. SW, Lynnwood) from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 for the annual Santa Breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Mukilteo Family YMCA. Decorate cookies, make ornaments, enjoy carolers and more.

Tickets are $5 for children and $20 for adults (does not include tax or gratuity). Seating is limited; reservations are required.

Rock For Autism concert planned

The Washington Autism Alliance & Advocacy will host a “Rock for Autism” concert fundraiser, 8 p.m. Dec. 16 at Tony V’s Garage, 1716 Hewitt Ave. Besides live music from The Guns of Nevada, The Shaken Growlers and The Barbarinos, there will be raffles and prizes.

The 21-and-older event costs $10. Tickets are available at the door, or in advance.

Holiday bus service

Community Transit will operate limited bus service Thanksgiving Day and Friday.

Local bus service will follow a Sunday schedule Thursday, as will DART paratransit service. There will be no commuter service, and only Sound Transit Express Route 512 will run, on a Sunday schedule.

On Friday, local bus service and paratransit service will be back to regular schedules, as will Sound Transit Express service out of Snohomish County. Limited local commuter service to downtown Seattle and U-District will be available.

Everett Transit will operate on Sunday levels of service for regular routes Thursday and Friday. Paratransit service will be on a Sunday schedule Thursday and operate normally Friday.

Bodies of two men recovered after falling into Eagle Falls near Index

Two men fell into the falls and did not resurface Saturday, authorities said. After a recovery effort, two bodies were found.
