Get ‘em while you can

A limited supply of immunizations to protect adults against whooping cough, also know as pertussis, will be offered Saturday at two sites: The Snohomish Health District, 3020 Rucker Ave., in Everett and Sea Mar Community Health Center, 9710 State Ave., Marysville.

The shots are for uninsured or low-income adults who have close contact with infants and young children, and pregnant women in their third trimester of pregnancy.

Appointments are required and can be made from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today by calling the Snohomish Health District at 425-388-5088.

Author to read: Northwest author Sherman Alexie plans to make an appearance at a free event at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Everett Performing Arts Center.

His coming-of-age novel, “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian,” was chosen by the library for its Everett Reads! title this year.

Tell us your story: We’re looking for people who have worked at the Kimberly-Clark mill (right), or its predecessors, to talk with us for an upcoming story.

We want to talk history. We’re particularly interested in families in which multiple generations may have worked at the mill.
