Veterans Day offerings

Some businesses are honoring veterans and active-duty military this Sunday.

Free car wash: Several car wash businesses are giving free service, including Brown Bear Car Wash with several locations in the Puget Sound. For locations and hours, visit www.brownbear.com. The General Brushless Car Wash also is giving away free car washes from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at 6101 Evergreen Way in Everett.

Free admission: The Seattle Woodland Park Zoo is giving free admission to veterans and military staff on Sunday, and offering discount admission to their families. The zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For directions and more information, visit www.zoo.org. Mount Rainier National Park is giving everyone free admission on Sunday. Food: Dick’s Drive-Ins are offering free burgers, fries and sodas in honor of Veterans Day on Sunday. Any burger on the menu, including the famous quarter-pound Dick’s Deluxe, plus an order of Dick’s hand-cut fries and a 16-ounce soda will be served free throughout the day at all six Dick’s locations to any veteran or active military member as a way to honor past and present military service. Dick’s in Edmonds is at 21910 Highway 99.

Holiday closures: Monday is Veterans Day. The post office, schools, county and city offices will be closed. Some business, including banks, will be closed that day. Community Transit will operate on a regular schedule. On Monday, local routes 270,275,277 and 280 will not be serving stops on Cedar Street just south of Hewitt Avenue in Everett because of construction.
