Benefit for theater
Two local bands are donating their talent and time to help raise money for an Arlington theater group that helps children from violent or abusive homes.
The benefit concert will be Sunday at the Barnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., Arlington. Tickets are $10, or $30 for the family. Doors open at 3 p.m., show starts at 3:30 p.m.
Cherry Cherry will perform Neil Diamond’s greatest hits, and Cascade Range will appeal to country and western fans.
Open Door Theatre uses theater to teach children important skills to help them understand the differences between healthy and unhealthy touches and behaviors, and offers an opportunity to connect with children in a safe and interactive environment.

Fall festival: Purdy &Walters at Floral Hills Cemetery is hosting a Fall Harvest Festival, featuring seasonal family fun and activities.
The event will take place rain or shine from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Purdy &Walters at 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood.
Jump around in a bouncy house or take a hayride through the fall foliage. This year’s festival will also feature a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating and a gourd hunt.
Admission to the festival is free along with complimentary fall treats including hot cocoa, popcorn and hotdogs.

Health fair: A health fair is planned from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Walter E. Hall Park, 1226 W. Casino Road, Everett.
It’s the end of the Binational Health Week put on by the Mexican Consulate in Seattle and sponsored by several businesses and organizations. On Sunday, a soccer match will be played by kids ages 9 to 13 at the park. There will also be a free screenings for glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure and flu shots and other resources.
