English-language classes for parents of children in the Edmonds School District begin at 7 p.m. today in the cafeteria at Mountlake Terrace High School, 21801 44th Ave. W. Free childcare for children ages 3-10 is available; children must be potty-trained.

Remembrance ceremony in Lynnwood: Families and friends are invited to honor homicide victims and share memories at a special ceremony Saturday in Lynnwood.
The event is planned in concert with the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. The annual event is held to honor lives taken by violence and to recognize the impact murder has on the entire community. The event is being sponsored by the Everett-based nonprofit Victim Support Services.
Survivors will have the chance to share their stories. They are encouraged to bring photographs and poems. Survivors will release balloons in honor of their loved ones after the ceremony.
The event will be held at Martha Lake, 16300 E. Shore Drive, Lynnwood. Coffee and light refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
