Eat some wild meat

Bethany Christian Church is planning its annual Wild Meat Dinner on Saturday, 2715 Everett Ave, Everett. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner begins at 6. The event is one of the church’s big fundraisers of the year. The dinner will include a variety of game including deer, elk and bear and other meats including duck, turkey and beef. The cost for adults is $20 and children are $12. A hunting bow will be auctioned off.

Citizenship classes: Registration is now open for the next series of free citizenship classes at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. The classes begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 and continue for five sessions.

Taught by a trained volunteer, the classes will offer practice in reading, speaking and writing as well as a review of the 100 questions on U.S. history and civics, 10 of which will be asked at an immigration interview. Class size is limited and registration is required for the five-week session.

Apply for photo award: The Professional Photographers of Washington is accepting applications for the group’s 2012 Student Photographer of the Year Award, a $2,000 scholarship grant for study in the photographic arts.

The award is available to all high school students graduating this year.

Professional photographers select the finalists based on photographic and scholastic studies and the desire to continue study in photography.

The application postmark deadline is March 23 and the winner will be announced in June.
