Burn ban lifted: Most local burn bans were lifted effective Wednesday morning. The bans were put into effect due to dry conditions. People still should check with their local fire department for any burning restrictions in their community.
Send us your tree farm info: To help our readers get ready for Christmas, The Herald is putting together a list of area tree farms.
If you would like us to include your tree farm in our list, please send information — hours, location, tree types, prices, phone number and website — to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 425-339-3037 by Nov. 1.
Join the Goblin Splash: The Forest Park Swim Center welcomes ghosts, pirates and princesses and other costumed friends ages 3-15 to a fun Halloween-themed swim party from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.
Kids and their parents can show off their costumes while playing on-deck games. Fill treat bags with prizes and enjoy the frivolities and refreshments.
Be sure to bring swim suits and towels. Lifeguards will be on duty. Pool rules require an adult to accompany children ages 7 and younger in the water and stay within arm’s reach — one adult for every two children.
In lieu of open swim admission, swimmers can “treat” their community by bringing generous non-perishable food donations for the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank. Monetary contributions also are accepted and benefit the Parks Scholarship Fund.
For regular admission prices and pool rules, go to www.everettwa.org/parks or call 425-257-8309.
