Get your tickets for the season opener for the Jet City Rollergirls who will be skating at the Everett Community College gym Saturday.

It’s a double header with the first bout between the Pink Pistols and the Camaro Harem and the second one between Hula Honeys and CarnEvil.

The event is set to run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 2206 Tower St., Everett. Tickets cost between $9 to $13.

State of the state: Gov. Chris Gregoire on Tuesday will deliver her 2012 state of the state address to a joint session of the Legislature.

The speech is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. in the House chambers. The speech will be televised live on TVW and webcast online at www.twv.org.

GroundFrog Day: Snohomish Slew is coming back for his annual prediction on GroundFrog Day at 11. a.m. Jan. 28 at the gazebo at First Street and Avenue A.

Slew is scheduled to predict if we will have six more weeks of soggy weather or if spring is just around the corner.

Games and live entertainment are planned as part of the day’s festivities.

The event is sponsored by the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce.
