Ocean acidifcation
People For Puget Sound have scheduled a talk about ocean acidification at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Anchor Pub, 1001 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
Richard Feely with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is expected to talk about recent research into acidification’s impacts on fish and shellfish.
The talk costs $5 for nonmembers, but is free for members of the group.
Golf tournament: The sixth annual Sue Gifford Melanoma Memorial Golf Tournament is set for 8 a.m. May 19 at Ballinger Lake Golf Course, 23000 Lakeview Drive, Mountlake Terrace.
The 18-hole, four-man scramble shotgun tournament is held in honor of Carol Hardy’s mother, who died from metastatic melanoma. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the American Cancer Society for skin cancer research.
The entry fee is $60 and includes continental breakfast, tee prizes, golf and lunch.
