Legal aid for seniors
Ann Vining, a legal services attorney with the Northwest Justice Project office that serves Snohomish County, will be the featured speaker at the Stillaguamish Senior Center at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Vining will cover topics such as advance directives and powers of attorney, Medicaid and long-term care, and legal services resources. Northwest Justice Project is Washington’s publicly funded legal aid program, with offices around the state.

Volunteers sought: The city of Snohomish is looking for volunteer applicants to fill a two-year term on its economic development committee.
The committee helps implement the city’s strategic plan by considering ways to promote economic development of increased retail sales, tourism, construction and creation of living wage employment opportunities. It aids in recovery from the economic downturn.
The city appoints members who live, work, own property, do business or participate in civic organizations in Snohomish. The volunteer position does not pay any compensation.
The position is vacant because Sean Straub is not seeking reappointment to the committee.
The city clerk is accepting applications until 4 p.m. March 14.
Applications are available at snohomishwa.gov or at City Hall, 116 Union Ave., Snohomish.
