People who love lip syncing can start practicing for the Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce competition.
The 24th annual Lip Sync Contest is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Sultan High School Commons, 13715 310th Ave. SE.
People must pay a $3 admission fee, bring their music for their family-friendly performance, and be a resident within the Sultan School District boundaries. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

Reed lecture Tuesday*: Edmonds Community College is hosting Washington’s Secretary of State, Sam Reed, at the Black Box Theatre, at noon today.
Reed will discuss the 2012 election and the importance of voting, specifically for young adults.
While the event is free, seating is limited.
Mukilteo Historical Society to meet: Sally Straathof, reserve ranger for Ebey’s Landing on Whidbey Island, is the scheduled speaker at a meeting of the Mukilteo Historical Society on Thursday.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. in the Fowler Room at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. The meeting is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Created in 1978, the Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve at Ebey’s Landing is a collaborative effort of state, county, and town governments, the National Park Service, and owners of more than 17,000 acres on Whidbey Island.
