VANCOUVER, Wash. — A warrant suspect shot and killed in a confrontation with local and federal authorities in Vancouver on Friday has been identified.
Authorities identified the man as 28-year-old Jessee J. France on Saturday.
According to information from the Vancouver Police Department, France rammed an undercover police vehicle before the shooting. Officers got out and approached the driver. The driver, then, “escalated the situation” leading several officers to fire.
The suspect died at the scene near the Addison Apartments. A veteran Vancouver Police detective has been put on paid administrative leave pending completion of the investigation.
France was a suspect in several felony cases and had an outstanding warrant.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force is made up officers from the U.S. Marshals Service, the state Department of Corrections and Vancouver police.
