SEATTLE — Garbage-truck drivers on Sunday ratified a five-year contract with Waste Management, company officials said.

Teamster Local 174 leaders reached a deal with the company Tuesday, following days of bargaining and a brief strike.

“Although we are not at liberty to discuss the specifics of the final contract, we are glad that the drivers voted to accept the terms of the contract,” Waste Management spokesman Dean Kattler said in a press release.

Waste Management serves 75,000 homes and businesses in parts of unincorporated Snohomish County as well as Arlington, Marysville, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood, Brier, Mukilteo and parts of south Everett.
