EVERETT — A Gold Bar blogger has withdrawn her second petition seeking Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon’s recall.
Petitioner Anne Block, who also is an attorney, informed the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Monday that she was withdrawing paperwork, deputy prosecutor Gordon Sivley said. County prosecutors are neutral in the case, but are acting as friends of the court.
Block’s second petition sought to correct a legal flaw that forced a Superior Court judge on Aug. 9 to dismiss her previous recall effort. The judge ruled that she had failed to state under oath allegations about Reardon misusing public resources. Under Washington law, a recall petition must present well-founded assertions of wrongdoing in office to remove an elected official from his or her job.
Block told county attorneys she plans to file a third petition.
