KENNEWICK — A Benton County Superior Court jury in Kennewick has convicted a woman accused of killing a pregnant woman and cutting the baby from her womb.

The Tri-City Herald reported that 25-year-old Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong was found guilty Tuesday afternoon of aggravated first-degree murder.

The Kennewick woman had pleaded innocent by reason of insanity. She faces life in prison without parole when she is sentenced Nov. 3.

She was convicted in the June 27, 2008, death of Araceli Camacho Gomez, whose body was found in a city park. The baby survived and is now living with his father.
