EVERETT — A hearing on a proposed human rights ordinance for Snohomish County has been set for June.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 7 on the first floor of the Robert J. Drewel Building on 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and share opinions about the ordinance, which would create a seven-member commission to advise county leaders on civil-rights issues. The current proposal grants the commission no power to seek penalties against employers, landlords or others accused of civil-rights violations.
