OSO — A backcountry hiker was rescued Monday after a mishap on the Boulder River Trail near Oso the day before.
The woman somehow got injured late Sunday while about three miles up the trail in a steep, wooded area, said Shari Ireton, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The injury was reported Monday morning.
County search-and-rescue crews and firefighters from Oso and Darrington worked together to get the woman to safety, Ireton said.
The woman was flown by helicopter to a local hospital. Her age and other details had not been released as of Tuesday.
