DARRINGTON — A hiker was injured in a 15-foot fall down an embankment Wednesday on the Boulder River Trail, leading to a challenging rescue on a muddy path.
The hiker fell around 1:20 p.m., about 10 miles west of Darrington, said Lt. Jeff Brand, of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
She was reported to have possible leg and rib fractures.
First-responders spent much of the afternoon working to bring the hiker back to the trailhead.
An update on the person’s condition wasn’t immediately available.
