I-5 collision injures 2 in Mountlake Terrace

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Two people were injured in a collision on I-5 near the 220th Street SE exit, just after midnight on Thursday.

The Washington State Patrol said a Seattle man, 25, was southbound at high speed when he hit another car from the rear. The other driver, an Edmonds woman, 30, was forced to swerve to the right and ended up in a ditch. The man swerved the opposite way, flipping the car onto an embankment.

Both drivers were injured and transported to a hospital.

Troopers are investigating the accident. Drugs or alcohol are suspected to be a factor.
