Idaho mom pushes stroller out of way before car hit her

BOISE, Idaho — A southwestern Idaho woman was hurt but her baby escaped injury when she pushed a stroller out of the way just before a car hit her.

The Idaho Statesman reported the woman was returning from walking her children to school in Middleton just before 8 a.m. Monday when she stepped into the street to get around an all-terrain vehicle that was partially blocking the sidewalk.

Canyon County spokesman Joe Deck said the woman walked around a recreational vehicle about the time a car driven by a 16-year-old girl came down the street. The woman saw the oncoming car and pushed the stroller away before the car hit her.

Decker says the woman suffered a lower body injury that was not life-threatening.

No one has been cited for the collision.
