MUKILTEO – IMCO General Construction was selected by Washington State Ferries as the general contractor for the next stage of construction in the Mukilteo ferry terminal. The project, valued at $49.7 million, includes the passenger building, holding lanes, toll plaza and waterfront promenade.
It is the largest portion of the terminal project. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2019. Preparation work was recently completed.
In August, the ferries rejected bids for this phase because all of the proposals exceeded funds available. To help lower costs this time, construction was split into two contracts, one for upland buildings and another for remaining marine structures. The second contract will be advertised to bidders in early 2019.
