Operation Gratitude: Mill Creek encourages donations of care package items to benefit Operation Gratitude. Donations will be accepted through Nov. 1 at City Hall, 15728 Main St., or Heatherwood Middle School, 1419 Trillium Blvd. Donation suggestions are listed online at www.cityofmillcreek.com. Monetary donations also welcome to cover shipping costs.

Veteran honors: Edmonds Community College holds an annual Veterans Day Celebration, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 1 on campus in the Black Box Theatre, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood. This year’s event will honor U.S. Army veterans. More info: edcc.edu.

In the Mood: Sky Performing Arts and the Wounded Warrior Project present “In the Mood: The Victory Tour” musical revue, a USO-style performance with songs and sketches of the 1940s. Performances are 2 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the East County Senior Center (276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe), 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Snohomish Senior Center (506 Fourth St.), and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and 2 p.m. Nov. 12 at Trinity Episcopal Church (2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett). Veterans dinner: A Veterans Appreciation Dinner is set for 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Camano Chapel, 867 SW Camano Drive, Camano Island. Free for veterans, who can also bring a guest. RSVP by Nov. 2 with choice of salmon or chicken to Cyndi at 850-758-8754. Retired Marine Corps Lt. Col. Rick Throm is the keynote speaker.

Nominate a hero: Epic Ford in Everett will give a new Ford F-150 to a selected member or veteran of the U.S. military. Nominations are accepted through Nov. 30. More info: www.epicfordnw.com.

RESOURCES

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society: The nonprofit provides interest-free loans and grants for emergency and unexpected financial needs for active duty, retired military and their family members. Programs include budget counseling, financial education, nurse home visits, and more. NMCRS Everett is based at the Smokey Point Navy Complex in Marysville. More info: 425-304-3203, www.nmcrs.org.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve: ESGR supports the men and women of the Guard and Reserves, including employer and supervisor awards programs, under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. More info: 800-336-4590 option 1, esgr.mil.

Hero’s Café: Hero’s Café, a social gathering for veterans, meets 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. the last Tuesday of each month at Verdant Health and Wellness Community Center, 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. Veterans can share a cup of coffee and their stories. The program is a partnership between local veterans groups and the city of Lynnwood. Resource workshop: A free Veteran’s Services Resource Workshop is offered 2-3 p.m. first Mondays at Everett Community Justice Center, 8625 Evergreen Way, Suite 108. Two men fell into the falls and did not resurface Saturday, authorities said. After a recovery effort, two bodies were found.
