Learn about veterans burial benefits Aug. 21

Veterans and their families are invited to a burial benefits information session offered free at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Aug. 21 at Cabela’s sporting goods store, 9810 Quil Ceda Blvd., near Marysville.

Sponsorship is by an Everett funeral home.

Active Duty

Army National Guard Pvt. Walter L. Sharp has graduated from station unit training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training. Sharp is the son of Robert Sharp of Marysville.

Marine Corps Capt. Dylan Farmer has deployed to Afghanistan for seven months. Farmer flies a CH-53E helicopter for the Marine Corps and is based out of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California. He graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 2003 and the University of Washington in 2007. His parents are Charles and Marty Farmer of Snohomish.
