GRANITE FALLS — An injured hiker was rescued Tuesday afternoon from Mount Pilchuck.
The woman slipped on snow at about 4,800 feet and injured her leg, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Thursday. A passerby called 911 about 1:15 p.m.
The woman was well-equipped but couldn’t walk down the trail, Ireton said.
Rescue crews picked her up on the west side of the mountain and flew her to safety in a helicopter.
The road to the trailhead opened May 24, according to the U.S. Forest Service. However, the snow level starts about a quarter-mile before the trailhead.
