Fife and drum corps

The Patriots 1776 in Everett is a newly formed piccolo, flute, fife and drum corps that will play basic fife music from the Revolutionary period, using full colonial uniforms and patriotic flags.

The historical and non-political group for teens, adults and families kicks off with an informational meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Everett Music Hall behind Macy’s at Everett Mall, 1402 Everett Mall Way.

The Snohomish County Music Project-sponsored program will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday nights through Labor Day.

Lots of shots: A clinic that provided no-cost vaccinations and free ice skating at Comcast Arena provided nearly 150 inoculations Saturday, organizers said.

Walgreens staff provided 94 flu shots, and the Snohomish Health District 53 shots of other vaccines.

Several agencies and volunteer groups worked together to put on the event, including Comcast Arena, the Snohomish Health District, the Mukilteo-South Everett Rotary Club, Walgreens, the state Department of Health and the Medical Reserve Corps of Snohomish County.
