SEATTLE — Jurors have visited the scene where a deadly shooting took place at Seattle Pacific University in 2014. KING-TV report ed that jurors took a field trip Wednesday to the campus hall where Aaron Ybarra, 29, is accused of fatally shooting 19-year-old Paul Lee and wounded two others. Jurors saw the outside of the hall, where Lee was shot, as well the lobby and rooms discussed in witness testimony. Prosecutors wanted to show jurors how small the hall is compared to how it appears on surveillance video of the shooting. Ybarra has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to first-degree murder and other charges in the case.
Charging papers saidYbarra scouted the campus before he returned on June 5, 2014, with the intent of committing a mass shooting he did not expect to survive.
His trial began Oct. 10 and is expected to last two months
