Kids earn first at Bible event

MARYSVILLE — The Cascade Eagles Pathfinder Bible Achievement Team earned first place in April at the division finals invitational at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich.

To qualify for this competition, the team earned first place in three regional contests. Each Bible Achievement event tested the six-member team on the book of Isaiah, as taken from the New King James Bible and portions of the Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary. In order to answer increasingly difficult questions, the team divided up the book of Isaiah to memorize it. Each team member memorized nearly 200 verses.

The team includes Erik and Jenna Christensen and Emma Claridge of Arlington, Fiona West and coach Kathy West of Marysville and Bailley and Josi Schmidt of Mount Vernon.
