LAKE STEVENS — The Lake Stevens School Board has delayed its vote on updating boundaries for elementary schools.
The district’s seventh elementary, Stevens Creek, is expected to open in the middle of next school year. The boundaries that determine which students go to which elementary are being updated. Nearly 800 students are expected to switch schools.
The proposed boundaries, decided by a committee, were shared last week. The school board had planned to vote on them Wednesday but instead decided to discuss the boundaries Wednesday and vote Feb. 8.
“We want to allow more time for the Board to review the proposed boundaries, and to consider the considerable feedback and questions both they, and the school district, received,” spokeswoman Jayme Taylor said.
The boundaries can be viewed online at lkstevens.wednet.edu or by stopping by the district office at 12309 22nd St. NE.
