LYNNWOOD — Police converged on a Martha Lake-area home Friday afternoon to serve a search warrant.
Investigators declined to say much about the operation other than that it was connected to a recent home-invasion robbery.
“That’s a violent incident to begin with, so that ramps everything up,” Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg said.
Everett police were joined by Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies, in addition to Special Weapons and Tactics team members.
Police received information that people may be in the home who don’t plan to cooperate with law enforcement, Dalberg said. Getting them out was expected to be a long and slow operation.
“They don’t want anybody to get hurt,” he said.
The neighborhood was blocked off for some time, and some people were asked, but not mandated, to stay in their homes, reported the Herald’s news partner, KIRO 7 TV news.
At one point during the afternoon, the sheriff’s rescue helicopter roved the area.
Dalberg on Wednesday evening declined to share further details until the operation was complete. Investigators weren’t immediately sure when that would be.
