MUKILTEO — A public forum on teen dating safety is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mukilteo City Hall, 11930 Cyrus Way.
The event, called the “Teen Dating Abuse and Prevention Forum,” is hosted by the city and the police department. The guest speaker is Tiffany Krusey, who works with domestic violence victims. She will talk to parents about teen dating and how to prevent abusive relationships and watch for warning signs. There also will be a Q-and-A session.
In Washington, about a third of people who are killed by their intimate partner began the relationship before they turned 21. Leaving a relationship is one of the most dangerous times for young women, data show.
