A local paramedic is launching a new product soon for parents with young children.
BabyRescue is essentially a nylon pouch with a long strap you can use to lower a baby or pet out a window in case of a fire. It’s supposed to be kept in a crib, diaper bag or other place in the event of an emergency.
Its parent company, Safety International LLC, is co-owned by Lt. Rick Peters, a long-time paramedic with Snohomish County Fire District 7 in Clearview. I met up with Peters on Thursday in Silver Lake to talk about his battle against non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
In addition to being a paramedic and businessman, Peters stays busy as a union president, professional drummer and father of four. I’m planning a longer piece about him soon.
Peters expects BabyRescue to launch officially in about two weeks. There is a toddler version as well.
