Several officers from the Everett Police Department joined thousands of others in uniform to honor a fallen Canadian comrade, Abbotsford Const. John Davidson, who was killed Nov. 6 in a shootout with a suspected car thief. Davidson was a 24-year police veteran. He began his law enforcement career in the United Kingdom, working for the Northumbria Police from 1993 to 2005. In 2006, he was hired by the Abbotsford Police Department. He worked in the patrol, youth squad and traffic sections.
The Nov. 19 funeral procession, led by a vehicle carrying Davidson’s body and the Abbotsford Police Department, stretched for miles. The procession of thousands of uniformed police officers included a massive showing from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other police officers from across Canada and the United States.
