SEATTLE — The State Patrol says two young men were killed in a crash on northbound I-5 in Seattle early this morning.
Witnesses reported seeing a silver BMW traveling at a very high rate of speed around 2:45 a.m., before it hit another car and spun out of control. The BMW then smashed into the back of a moving Seattle Fire Department medic unit.
The driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old Brier man, and his passenger, a 23-year-old Lynnwood man, were pronounced dead the scene. The two occupants of the medic unit were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The State Patrol believes alcohol was involved. The collision closed down northbound I-5 at Mercer Street for several hours.
